Moma Scholarship has the main aim of providing financial help to the brilliant students of minority communities so that they can pursue higher and professional qualification. It is an initiative of Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India to provide assistance to minority community students with financial aids. Earlier there was online one type of scholarship offered, but now two types of scholarships are offered:
- Merit cum means based scholarship
- Post-Matric scholarship
Admission fee, course fee and tuition fee is different for hostlers and day scholars and also for each category. See this chart for complete information.
-Students, who have got admission in a recognized college to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination.
-Students, who have got admission in a recognized college to pursue technical/professional courses, without facing any competitive examination, will also be eligible for scholarship. However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly of merit.
-A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course.
-The annual family income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of the beneficiary should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh per annum from all sources.
-A student residing in a particular State/UT will be entitled for scholarship under the quota of that State/UT only irrespective of his place of study.
Duration of award(s): The course fee will be paid by the State Department directly to the institute concerned. Financial assistance will be given to pursue degree and/or post graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution. Maintenance allowance will be credited to the student’s account. Continuation of the program in subsequent years will depend on successful completion of the course during the preceding year.

The notification for MOMA Scholarship for minority students has released. Students belonging to minority communities like Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain or Parsi studying in India can apply for Merit cum Means Scholarship 2015-16. Students can apply online application at official site www.scholarships.gov.in before the last dates. The West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation invites online applications from meritorious students belonging to Minority Communities (i.e. Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Parsee and Sikh) who are pursuing Higher Secondary, Under Graduate, and Post Graduate Level in recognised institution under recognised Boards/ Universities of West Bengal and other states of India. Renewal application can be made by using the Account No. used for the year 2014-15 session in which he/she got the Scholarship. Uploading of the copies of documents is mandatory for all the Fresh and Renewal applications.
