The Department of Skill Development and Industrial Training, Haryana is imparting skill based training to the unemployed youth of state through the network of 166 Govt. Industrial Training Institutes (133 (Co-Ed.) GITIs and 33 GITIs for Women) and 242 Private ITIs under Craftsman Training Scheme. Engineering and Non- Engineering trade courses of one and two years duration are being run in these institutes. During current academic year 2018-19, 60544 sanctioned seats in 3540 trade units have been released for admission in GITIs and 38604 sanctioned seats in 2274 trade units have been released for admission in private ITIs. 72293 candidates admitted to Govt. & Pvt. ITIs in the session 2017-18. Admissions for session 2018-19 are in process.

The candidates who will qualify will be able to attend the further process which is counselling. Given Information is based on last year, as the conducting body will release the latest information we will update it here. The candidates need to go through counselling process to take admission to CTS courses. There are multiple rounds of the counselling. Counselling will be called on the basis of the merit list. Before counselling process merit list will be issued by the conducting body on its official website.

Engineering & Non- Engineering trade courses of one and two years duration are being run in these institutes. During the current academic year 2019-20, 74384 sanctioned seats in 3655 trade units, out of which 57328 seats in 2612 trade units have been released for admission in Govt. ITIs and 47216 sanctioned seats in 2384 trade units out of which 34388 seats in 1593 trade units have been released for admission in Pvt. ITIs. Total 65623 (47386 in GITI’s and 18241 in PITI’s) Trainees admitted to Govt. & Pvt. ITI’s during session 2019-20.
In the year 1966, when Haryana came into being, there was 48 Govt. Industrial Training Institutes with a seating capacity of 7156. Now, there is a total of 418 Govt. & Pvt. Industrial Training Institutes with 121600 sanctioned seats offering courses in 81 different trades. Quality of training in ITIs is being upgraded regularly by improvement in curriculum, training methodology and training of trainers through industry sector council at Govt. of India. New trades are also being introduced as per market demand.
