Shows Gone Wild: Nine Inch Nails Perform Covered In Mud

Shows Gone Wild is our look at the craziest and wildest events that have occurred at shows throughout live music history, captured on video.

Nine Inch Nails had the pleasure of taking part in Woodstock ’94 (infamously known as “Mudstock” due to the mudfights that broke out during the rainy festival) performing third to last on the same night as the likes of Metallica and Aerosmith. NIN’s set started with instrumental music playing, with the band nowhere in sight until the climax of the music, finally making their entrance. And what an entrance it was: Trent and the boys finally took to stage completely covered head-to-toe in mud! Whether it was in solidarity of the crowd or another reason, it turned out to be one of the more memorable performances of the mud-fest.
