The Flaming Lips: Black Cab Session

If you’ve ever sat in the back seat of a British taxi you’ll know there’s a little more space than in their U.S. counterparts. However, room for a band to play a live song? Surprisingly, the answer is yes. The Black Cab Sessions is an online site that has dozens of such videos. Their latest addition is from The Flaming Lips and although the Oklahoma pranksters weren’t able to fit in their usual array of costumed dancers, guitarist Steven Drozd did have some weird plastic bubble over his guitar. The guys performed “I Can Be A Frog,” which in the the original version featured Karen O doing the animal noises, for this version Wayne persuaded the driver to deputize as the cab rumbled around the London suburb of Whitechapel.
