Buddy Guy: Damn Right I’ve Got The Blues (Guitar Center Session)

Buddy Guy is quite simply put, a legend. Born in Lettsworth Louisiana he began learning guitar on a two string diddley bow he made himself before graduating to his first acoustic guitar. In the latter part of the 1950′s he moved to Chicago where his career began, largely influenced by Muddy Waters.

In the early 1960′s his career took off and his flamboyant brand of Chicago Blues influenced a whole slew of British blues guitarists such as Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton as well as the Rolling Stones. the 70′s were not kind to many blues artists and it wasn’t until the early 90′s that Buddy really began to receive recognition as a blues innovator. He recently recorded a live session for DirecTV’s progamme the Guitar Center Sessions and this recording of “Damn Right I’ve Got The Blues” is from that session and program hosted by the Live Buzz’s Nic Harcourt
