Hot Chip And Sleigh Bells In San Francisco

It’s always a crapshoot when a studio based band breaks away from its Pro-Tools rig to hit the road with a band. Hot Chip brought their expanded lineup and painstakingly crafted electro-pop productions, to San Francisco’s Warfield Theater on Sunday night and proved themselves up to the challenge. Breathing life into their material the band were, according to the SF Weekly, “Tight and energetic, totally cheesy but in full ownership of the cheese.”

Current indie blog band du jour Sleigh Bells opened the show and it seems the duo (Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss) can also bring it as they “thrashed about the stage, he with a guitar and she with a microphone”, playing tracks from their debut Treats loudly in front of a¬†row of Marshall stacks.
