Today’s dance music traces its ancestry back to the early seventies, when the disco movement was born out of the funk music being played in the discotheques of New York City. By the time John Travolta pulled on that white polyester suit in the 1977 movie Saturday Night Fever with the Bee Gees providing the soundtrack, the world was about to be introduced to some of the most innovative music of the decade and some of the biggest misjudgments in fashion history!
