Buzzed Lists: Top 10 Beatles Records

There’s been so much written about the Beatles: who they were, what they did, and what they meant. One of the truly amazing things about the Beatles is how much they evolved as both performers and songwriters in just a few short years. Some of the early material sounds so different from the later albums that it could almost have been recorded by a different band, and in a way, it was. The band were barely out of their teens when they made their first records; by the time they split up they were world-weary millionaires. But the early recordings are just as important as the classic later releases, as they were the albums that created the phenomenon known as Beatlemania, which in turn allowed them the luxury to experiment in the studio and make the records that they wanted to.

In honor of John Lennon’s upcoming birthday on October 9th, here’s a list of top 10 Beatles records, in order of Nic’s preference:

Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Abbey Road
Rubber Soul
The White Album
A Hard Day’s Night
With the Beatles
Please Please Me
Beatles for Sale
Let It Be
